Local Berkeley film-maker, Charles Koppelman, is making a film on antisemitism in Berkeley and wants to film the upcoming May 8th congressional hearing on K-12 antisemitism in Washington DC. Let's help him fundraise to get to DC with his sound crew! Any additional funds will go directly to the making of this historic film.
SYNOPSIS
A long-form documentary (80-100 minutes) for national/international distribution tells the story of a Berkeley community holding the line against Anti-Israel fervor and growing antisemitism in local politics, schools, and community life. Who are these Jewish people, standing up to threats and intimidation, organizing politically, and why?
STATUS
Filming started a month ago and has included Albany and Berkeley City Council meetings, BUSD meetings, a JACOB (Jewish Coalition of Berkeley) organizing meeting, and a Berkeley City Council candidates presentation.
OBJECTIVE
To film in Washington D.C. on May 8 when the BUSD Superintendent testifies before the House Committee on Education, and to film with Berkeley folks from the Jewish community who will also be attending.
