My name is Lilly DeViolet. I am 15 years old and am in the 10th grade in Greenfield , Massachusetts. I live at home with my mom and three cats. I play the guitar, piano, love nature, the Greenriver and the beautiful Valley in Western Massachusetts where I grew up. I want to be a part of the solutions we as humans need to come up with in order for us to live and thrive on earth with all her wonderful life. The Earthship Academy is the beginning of my journey.
I've been accepted to the Earthship Youth Academy 2020 !
Earthships are an amazing architectural building design created by Michael Reynolds in Taos, NM. They are completely self sufficient and sustainable housing built from garbage like tires, bottles and cans. Please, visit their website ( https://www.earthshipglobal.com/youth-academy )and find his movie, "Garbage Warrior" on the internet. You can do a youtube search for earthship biotecture for more information on the program. This is our future!

Michael Reynolds and his team have created an academy for all ages but I've been accepted into the youth academy that will take place in Taos, New Mexico in August 2020 for two weeks! We will learn to build an earthship! I want to learn this program and be a part of building earthships so I can help others around the world build sustainable housing that has zero footprint and actually benefits the earth by using old tires and bottles and cans in it's structure.
I am interested in Earthships because I want to be a part
of the solutions required for humans and all life to thrive
on earth. I want to participate with like minded people
who can be a team in solving the issues facing the human
condition. One of our biggest issues is affordable zero impact housing. Earthships are a solution! And they're beautiful too!

A few years ago my mom showed me the movie, "Garbage Warrior". My favorite part of what Earthship Biotecture does is the earthquake and tsunami proof rain gathering wells they build all over the world for people and communities who need it. I would love to be a part of a team that travels the world and helps to build these wells.

I'm hoping to raise enough money to pay for this trip and the academy by either donations or work. I'll be flying alone and responsible for my own food and cooking while I'm there. It's a little scary but I'm excited to do it and meet new people who can teach me ways we as communities can lesson our impact on Earth.
If you would like to support this goal of mine, I appreciate your donations. I can also do house hold chores, yard work and baby sitting to help raise the money I need to go.
Thank you for your interest in my goal.
