Lauren has been released from her most recent hospital stay. She is thankfully able to receive her chemo treatment today. This is the first time in about a month she's been able to receive it. She has been having a difficult time with getting by.
Both Lauren and Madalyn need our help!
Message from Lauren Below:

Through the last 2 years, I can say life hasn’t been easy. I’ve had my ups and downs, my good and my bad days and days where I just wanna give up. But life is so much more than this awful “C” word.
Here’s some of my story….

In November of 2022 I had went in to get a colonoscopy done. Little did I know when I woke up, my life would be forever changed. The doctor sat on the bed with a look of defeat and worry. He told me it was cancer… you never think it will be you, until it is. Through the next couple weeks and months I went through tons of scans, labs and treatments along with radiation after all of my chemotherapy treatments. Everything was on the up and up and I knew I was going to beat this, I knew it was almost over with. We prepared for surgery to take out lymph nodes and the cancer and I would have a “temporary” ileostomy to be able to let my body heal. Fast forward about 2.5 months, we started planning and talking about having a reversal done of my ileostomy. We set the date, had all of my pre-op appointments done and we were two days away…I was beyond excited to go back to a semi normal life. Little did I know, my life was about to change AGAIN.

Some of my labs came back and there is a marker that they watch, the marker that they had been keeping an eye on had sky rocketed in the matter of 2.5 months. The surgeon and his assistant had pulled me back to talk with me and again all I saw was the dread on their faces of what they had to tell me. The surgeon looked at me as the assistant held my hand as they told me he couldn’t do my surgery because of that number rising and them needing to look more into why it was so high…I was angry, confused and so many other emotions of why? The following days were filled with lots of appointments and doctors, then we had received the news that the cancer was back..the awful “C” word had came back and with vengeance. The cancer had spread and was here to fight one more time, the cancer had metastasized into my liver and lungs. Automatically we started back on chemotherapy to start to attack this disease.

Through these months we had our ups and downs, many obstacles tried to hinder a lot. I was diagnosed with 2 blood clots in each lung along with pleurisy, which has ultimately made everyday life a little harder. A couple months after being diagnosed with those things I had a 1 in 3% reaction to chemotherapy which led to a 3 day hospital stay, sickness that put a hold on chemotherapy which only added more stress.

About a month later, I thought we were on the ups and doing good!! All I can say is thank god my daughter was home and able to help as she always has when I’m in the least little bit of trouble. One night I thought I was just having a flare up and Tylenol could fix it..Saturday morning, Madalyn flew right into action and asked for help and called 9-1-1. This led to a 5 day hospital visit with lots of test, scans and multiple doctors looking into my situation. At the end of my stay I had answers but still wanted to question a lot as to why…

So today I ask for prayers and guidance not only for myself but for my incredible daughter, Madalyn. This sure hasn’t been easy for her as I could never imagine being a child and having to watch a parent go through this. I ask that you wrap your arms around her and surround her with love and support. I want to thank you for the continued love and support that has been shown, we can’t thank you all enough!

Lauren:
"281 Days have passed since I was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer.

61 days have passed since I found out I was cancer free.

1 day has passed since I unfortunately received the absolute worst news of my life.

I was having routine blood work and having my port flushed getting ready to have my reversal surgery. It was a normal day, so I thought. I received a phone call from my oncologist asking me to come in. I wasn’t sure what was going on but here I went to see my doctor. I had a gut feeling an uneasy feeling to say the least. The look in my doctors eyes I will never forget. The next words that came out of her mouth will forever remain in my head. The cancer is back, and it has spread. I wasn’t prepared, no one could ever be. But for now this is where we’re at. Today, I was diagnosed again with what is now stage 4 colorectal cancer that has metastasized into my lungs and liver. I’m scared, yes, but I will push through and fight like hell. Please everyone just keep Madalyn, myself and my family in your thoughts and prayers.

I’ve done it once and I’ll be damned if I’m gonna give up now."

My sister Lauren lives in North Carolina and has been off and unable to work since August 9th 2023. This has been a incredibly difficult time for her and my niece Madalyn who is only a freshman in highschool.
I am hoping by creating this fundraiser that with a little bit of help I can try raise money to help Lauren with their everyday life expenses for the next few months. Also it would be incredible to maybe even have some money to put towards her continuing medical bills. It's so hard living far away from your loved ones during their time of need.
Thank you for your help.
