Dear friends,

I have been honored with an invitation to sing in the Lanzarote Festival in the Canary Islands this summer. The festival starts a day after my 40th birthday, and I have been invited to sing three arias and four songs with the Lanzarote Symphony orchestra.

This picture is from the last time I performed with a live orchestra, which was my second year of grad school during the pandemic. We all wore masks and had to maintain twelve feet between us during active singing, but I still managed to get pretty bossy.

While I've been afforded a generous scholarship to attend the festival, in order to attend I will still need to pay for travel, boarding, and meals. The total is around $3,500.

There are so many worthy causes you can give your money to. If it weren't for some very persuasive people in my life, I probably would've already passed on the opportunity and wouldn't be posting this; however, I've been reminded that there are generous and loving people in my life who want to support me, and there's no harm in asking.

So, if you are one of those people and you have a little to spare, would you consider a birthday gift? Even a $5 gift you would've spent buying me a cup of coffee? I would be beyond honored.
