Alma High School Student Kelsie Koves hopes to attend Interlochen Arts Camp for Musial Theater. She has been accepted, but she needs to raise funds to cover the cost of camp.
From Kelsie:
Being from a small town, there aren’t many opportunities for performers. I have had to travel not only for performance opportunities but also to take classes. I am grateful for the opportunities that my school offers, but the programs are still young and can only give me so much education. Outside classes, workshops, and camps allow me to build my individual needs to become the performer I am capable of becoming. I am currently in dance, choir, and theatre, and hope to attend the world-renowned Interlochen Arts Camp. It will provide a wider range of opportunities outside of what middle Michigan has to offer.
From a young age, I have been passionate about the performing arts. From the time I started dancing at the age of 3 to my senior year high school musical, Mean Girls, the stage is what I love. I use my talents in the creative arts to connect with audiences, express emotions, and tell stories that resonate. The stage is where I feel most alive. I spend my spare time singing and dancing for myself in addition to performing for others.
Participating in Interlochen Arts Camp will deepen my understanding of the arts, allowing me to learn from seasoned professionals. Through the Interlochen Musical Theater Showcase program that I have been accepted into, I will not only improve my skills but also expand my perspective, showing me the boundless possibilities that the arts offer.
I strive to make a difference by using my talents to build a sense of community and bring joy to others. Through community service activities like performing at the Alma Highland Festival Parades and Child Advocacy Performances, I want to create memorable experiences for those around me. My involvement in these events has taught me the value of giving back and the powerful impact the arts can have on the performer and the audience.
Please help me raise money to attend Interlochen Arts Camp.
