Send Kelly to U24 in Spain!
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Kelly Tam and I recently got selected for the U24 USA women's team! The tournament will be held in mid-June in Spain. I'm incredibly excited to be apart of this journey and cannot put into words how much this means to me. This has been a long-time dream of mine and to finally achieve it has been surreal. I'm undoubtedly grateful for the culmination of people and communities that have brought me to achieve this goal of mine. I would like to personally thank all my coaches, teammates, and friends who have supported me; this success couldn't have been possible without the deep communities that have supported me throughout this process. Unfortunately, this trip is costly and a huge financial burden to take on as a college student. Any amount donated will be hugely appreciated and will ease that burden. The funds raised will cover lodging, travel, and meals at the training camps and the tournament. The estimated expenses will be roughly around 6000 dollars.
A bit of frisbee background; I started playing in 5th grade at Beacon Hill Elementary School. I continued it at Mercer Middle School and Cleveland High School. I also played YCC's for the U20 mixed team. I now am in my second year playing for UW element. I also played for Seattle Riot and END this past summer. A big part of what shaped my frisbee upbringing is playing and growing up in the Southend. Growing up in the Southend meant playing with a lot of BIPOC and people that looked like me, it deeply shaped the person I am today and that community has given me life-long role models. I fell in love with frisbee because of these communities and the competition within the sport. To be able to play for team USA means so much to me and to be able to represent the communities I come from at that stage would be indescribable. Thank you!
