There is nothing like immersing yourself in the way of life and culture of other people through traveling. I have been fortunate enough to experience firsthand the benefits that studying abroad offers. Being able to explore new places, interact with different people and languages, and gaining new perspectives in a global context cannot be substituted.
I am receiving my Master of Science in Management from the University of Notre Dame. While in Spain, I'll have the opportunity to visit the historic cities of Madrid, Toledo, and Barcelona. My tripmates and I will experience traditional Spanish cuisines, entertainment like a Flamenco show, and visit landmarks such as Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, all while learning about the climate of Spain's economy and sustainability efforts in the region. We will visit companies like Groots which specialize in vertical farming technology to improve health through consumption, reduce stress, and improve air quality and overall happiness. For discussions and brainstorming sessions to improve the competitiveness of Spanish companies in foreign markets and to stimulate economic growth through increased export, we will connect with business executives at KPMG. Because Spain is well-recognized for its progressive urban planning techniques, we will work hands-on to build rooftop gardens and maintain current ones that aid in carbon sequestration and give buildings easier access to water.
I am truly ecstatic for this opportunity and cannot wait to start the journey on day 1. Donations will go towards airfare, visas and immunizations, and program costs. Any contribution is greatly appreciated!
Vamos a España!
