Send Kas to space! (kind of)
Donation protected
Do you remember when you were a kid and dreamed about being an astronaut? Wondering what was out there? What it would feel like to step on a new world? How we would get there?
I never stopped dreaming. And I'm about to get closer to it than I ever have before.
I'm Kas Knicely, planetary geophysicist and wannabe astronaut. And I might soon get to be an analog astronaut for the World's Biggest Analog (WBA).
WBA is an experiment that seeks to answer, “how will we live and work in Space as a community?” Thinking long-term, astronauts won't just be at one location on a body, they'll be at many. Being able to effectively coordinate between different bases will be necessary for long-term success. I'm hoping to do my little part to help figure that out, but I need funding. Without it, I may not be able to participate.
The funds you donate will help to pay for my travel (it's not cheap flying from Alaska to the southwest), my trainings with Interstellar Labs, and my time in a habitat (not sure which one yet, but hopefully SAM!). If you can't donate, you can also help by sharing this GoFundMe or just by talking about analog missions. Spreading word about analog activities and how it helps astronauts is incredibly useful! Plus, WBA is still looking for analog astronauts, so if you or someone you know may be interested, apply!
Any funds beyond my goal will be distributed to other analog astronauts in need of funding.
Ad astra per aspera,
