Send Kala to Germany 4 World Bowling Tournament!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kala Hargens. I am excited to share with you that I was one of the women selected to join the USA Deaf Women's team for the 2023 World Championship in Munich, Germany from August 1st through August 12th!
I started bowling when I was about six years old, thanks to my family who enjoyed bowling. My parents said they got me involved in the YABA league on Saturday mornings because, otherwise, I sat in front of the television every Saturday morning and watched cartoons. (not just me, but my two younger brothers too) Ever since then, I have been bowling in leagues, participated in my high school bowling team, and bowled in many tournaments, including Deaf tournaments in Kansas, Las Vegas, Texas, and other states.
I have a short story to share with you all. When I was 20, one night during our league in Omaha, Nebraska, my parents said if I rolled a 300, they would get me a new ball. Guess what....I did! They said I didn't need to get a new ball because I just rolled a perfect game and the ball was just fine. Clever parents, right!?
Bowling is one of my passions and I am asking you to help me go to Munich, Germany for the World Deaf Bowling Championship. There will be approximately 30 teams from 30 countries which means maybe about 250 bowlers! This is a huge deal to me and I want to take the opportunity to go, represent USA and bring back gold medal! The funds donated will go towards flight tickets, hotel, bowling equipment, necessities like meals, etc. I am stoked to attend this tournament! Go USA!
