Jonah goes to China - potential curative treatment

The Miklas family just got word that Jonah has been accepted for an experimental treatment, to start NEXT WEEK.

They are making immediate plans to travel to China, where the medical team is located. As they are making plans and getting ready, we are asking for your help in making this miracle possible through FINANCIAL SUPPORT. The medical costs alone are estimated to be over $50,000 for his treatment, plus last-minute flights, accommodations for a month, and not working for that time.

Since diagnosis, the "standard" medical options have been exhausted within the United States. However, Sven, Sha, and Tanya have continued to follow global research and treatment trials and found an early-stage trial for x-ALD that had some promise.

They've been corresponding with the medical team, located in China, for well over two years to see if they would accept Jonah as a candidate. Covid travel restrictions within China made that IMPOSSIBLE UNTIL RECENTLY. After travel opened up in the spring, the possibility of being accepted as a patient and discussions with the doctors picked up. Over this summer, the medical team reviewed his tests and records, read evaluation information from Tanya, and watched videos of Jonah running around, talking, telling jokes (being Jonah!), and THEY HAVE ACCEPTED HIM!!

The first rounds of medical trials CURED some of the patients, but not all. So while the trial shows great promise, there are no guarantees; however, there is potential to save Jonah's LIFE.
