I have recently been accepted as a student on a Discipleship Training Course (DTS) in Baja, Mexico!

The course is run by the Christian organisation Youth With A Mission (YWAM).

The DTS is a five-month course. The first three months are spent in a learning atmosphere with the focus being on growing in my relationship with God, as well as being involved in some of the ministries of YWAM San Diego/Baja, including building homes for the needy, tutoring local children, and visiting the red light district.

In the final two months, there is an outreach where the students will travel and share their faith.

This is an opportunity I only discovered recently. After praying about it, I have felt the Lord lead me on this adventure to discover more of his love, go deeper into my faith, and learn more about who he is and who I am in him. At the same time, I will be meeting new people, experiencing a unique culture (and waves) and reaching out on mission trips to those in need.

One thing that excites me about this opportunity is that it will combine my desire to grow in my faith with my love for surfing and languages. (The course is bi-lingual, run in Spanish and English)

So when I come back, I will be a fluent Spanish-speaking, Jesus-loving expert surfer. And I will have had a fantastic experience living in a culture very different from my own, where many live in poverty.

Surf and Skate DTS takes place at the campus in beautiful Ensenada, Mexico, right across the road from the beach. Surrounded by natural beauty, the campus will be a great atmosphere to make Jesus the focal point of my life while giving me the opportunity to share with others about God's story.

To be able to do this, I need funding. I need to raise around £6000 to pay for this:

Lecture Phase: £3050 Includes all tuition, food, & housing.

Outreach Phase: £2200-3000

This is an opportunity and invitation to invest in my calling as I step out in faith on this exciting and potentially life-changing (and slightly scary!) adventure!
