Hey! I'm James Moon. I'm 15 & in 9th grade. I compete on national circuit Lincoln-Douglas debate and consistently succeed at the highest levels of competition. I never could've gotten this far without kind institutions/people offering me financial aid to attend camps/hire coaches because I am unable to pay the full price tag (or even partial price tags) for most debate-related expenditures.
Debate is a home of sorts for me. I've probably spent more time thinking about debate than I have of thinking about school, and definitely spent more time cutting cards than doing homework. That is to say, I'm in love with the activity.
Recently, I was admitted to the University of Michigan's seven-week debate camp, meant for rising juniors and seniors. I was admitted one year early, and I would absolutely love to go if possible. However, I was not offered the amount of aid that I need in order to attend. As such, I turn to my roots and ask the debate community to help me out.
Anything helps! Thanks so much.
