Send Jaden to NYC for Art Recognition

Aloha! Help Jaden, a senior at Leilehua High School, get to New York City!

I have had the privilege of being Jaden’s art teacher since he was in sixth grade, and I can confidently say he is one of the most talented, hardworking, and kind-hearted students I’ve ever taught. His dedication to his art has paid off—he recently won a National Gold Medal in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, one of the most prestigious honors for young artists. This is an achievement he has worked toward for years, and now he has the incredible opportunity to attend the National Ceremony in New York City.

However, financial constraints may prevent him from making this once-in-a-lifetime trip. Here’s Jaden’s story in his own words:

Hi everyone,

My name is Jaden Bartolome, and I’m reaching out for your support to help me attend the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Ceremony in New York City. After years of dedication, hard work, and countless rejections, I’ve finally achieved my dream of winning a national award—something I never thought would come true.

However, due to financial hardships, I may not be able to attend. My family has always worked hard to support me, but money has always been tight. My parents put in long hours to provide for our household, and with so many financial responsibilities, covering the cost of flights, accommodations, and other expenses for this trip is simply beyond our means.

This isn’t just any trip—it’s an opportunity to stand among the nation’s top young artists, celebrate this milestone, and connect with others who share my passion. After years of refining my craft and facing rejection, this award is proof that my perseverance has paid off. Attending the ceremony would be a moment of validation, inspiration, and a celebration of everything I’ve worked toward.

Art has been my passion since elementary school. I’ve spent countless hours creating, improving, and submitting my work to competitions—often facing disappointment. But I never gave up. Winning this award means the world to me, and attending this event would make the journey even more meaningful.
