Send Jacob Anderson to the World Championships

UPDATE: Thanks to your genorosity including some direct donations, we have raised what Jacob needs to represent the USA. I am keeping this fundraiser going to help all 16 US skaters attend a Team USA training camp in Florida prior to the World Championships. This is the first time in recent memory that the US team can come together and work as a team before the competition. Other teams have been training all year. The athletes will have to pay their transportation, housing and food and we can work together to bring that cost down. Steph and I will match whatever you donate for the team.

Team USA has just been selected for the World Inline Speed Skating Championship in Italy. Unlike many countries whose governing bodies support their skaters, the members of Team USA must pay thousands of dollars to attend, including even buying their own uniforms. These young men and women endlessly work at their sport, one that has no reward except pride in accomplishment and pride in representing their country on the world stage. Please consider helping Jacob Anderson of North Carolina. Jacob will represent the US in the sprint events on the road and track. He’s a hardworking 24 year old who has started his own business, but training and travel to competitions limits the amount of time he can put into it, creating a need for help from you. He made the team last year but had to withdraw because he couldn’t afford to go. Let’s get Jacob to Italy. Steph and I will match the first $1,000 of your donations. Any amount above what Jacob needs, about $2,800, will be donated to Team USA to benefit the other 14 members of the team.
