Meet Isabela Rengifo. She is a brilliant 14-year-old high school student, originally from Valencia, Venezuela, currently living in Greensboro, North Carolina. She and her family immigrated to the United States 2 years ago, seeking refuge from the violent political climate in Venezuela. In the last year, Isabela has acted in two short films at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), one of which she also shares writing credit. Isabela loves to sing, play piano, act, and is currently in the middle of writing 3 young adult fiction novels.
Together, we made ALMA, a short film that became heavily inspired by Isabela’s talents as an actor and writer. A year has gone by, and these experiences have left a tremendous impact on her and her family. Now she is seeking professional training for her innate talent at the UNCSA 2019 Summer Drama Intensive, but we need your help to make this dream come true!
In this program, Isabela will get to live and work among an ambitious and dedicated ensemble, guided by world-class teachers. She will be challenged imaginatively in a community that centers around the young artist. She will be given the space to realize what is possible.
As artists, we know that none of us would be where we are today without the many helping hands that guided us here.
We hope that you will join us in paying it forward with supporting Isabela's artistic training!
With love and gratitude,
Hannah, Grant, Abe, and Trent
