Send Indiana to Nationals

Hi, my name is Indiana Lysaght and I am a 25-year-old cross-code athlete.

In 2021, while volunteering for a PhD canditate's study in cycling, I was talent-identified by Cycling Australia as a sprint cyclist with the potential to reach Olympic selection.

With a generational gap in female sprint cyclists, Cycling Australia founded the Olympic Fast Track Program. Their vision: to build an Olympic gold-medal winning women’s team-sprint whose journey to success positively impacts the future for women in the sport. I joined two other athletes and began learning how to ride a track bike.

We currently commit around 30-hours a week to the sport in a decentralised environment (our own home states) and are invited regularly to Adelaide to train in the national environment in intensive camps. Unfortunately, we fall into a grey area for funding with no current athlete categorisation. Therefore, I am self-funding my way through this opportunity.

I was recently selected to represent Western Australia at this year's National Championships after taking home gold in the match-sprint and silver in the 500 time-trial at State Champs last month. Oceanias - an opportunity to compete on an international level - takes place two days later, both in Brisbane.

I am currently seeking funding for both competitions to help cover flights, accommodation, uniform, entry fees and travel expenses whilst away. Any help on my journey would be hugely appreciated x
