Please consider supporting these North Tonawanda wrestlers who have each qualified for the National Championships in Fargo North Dakota, after placing top 3 in New York State during the Olympic wrestling style State Championships:

Brenna McCarley- 3rd place at New York State Freestyle Championships 106lbs (16 & Under): Brenna, twin sister of Hannah, is in only her 1st year of wrestling (November 2021). Brenna has amazed many during her short six months of wrestling. Brenna has gone from learning how to get in a wrestling stance to placing in the top 3 in NYS in this time frame which shows the amount of practice time and hard work she has put into this point. Brenna has faced adversity at times this season, battling some of the nation's toughest wrestlers where her inexperience sometimes showed. Despite this, Brenna kept working hard, asking questions, showing up to practice, and her desire to become better eventually blossomed, beating many girls with years of experience on her. Brenna- (previously a softball player) was encouraged to wrestle after a boxing match with her twin sister, in which her tenacity was on full display. Since then, she has fallen in love with wrestling and has dreams of wrestling in college. This opportunity will allow Brenna to compete and train with the best girl wrestlers in NYS and the country and gain invaluable experience pursuing her dreams.

Hannah McCarley- 2nd Place New York State Freestyle Championships 112lbs (16 & Under): Hannah started wrestling in 8th grade, where she instantly fell in love with the sport and found success even wrestling against other boys her age and weight. This past season, Hannah was a starter on the boys varsity wrestling roster and was even named on the Niagara Frontier All-Star 3rd team, competing against boys her age and weight. She has won multiple tournaments in her first year of wrestling Women’s only- Olympic Freestyle. This past weekend, she has won 4 matches at the NYS tournament, finishing in 2nd place and qualifying for nationals for her first time ever. Hannah works extremely hard, often seeking out the best competition in the room. Hannah is never afraid to compete and let it fly as she has wrestled some of the top males and females in the sport of wrestling. Hannah’s love for the sport goes above and beyond as she can and will talk your ear off anything wrestling. Like her sister, Hannah continues to work day in and day out with dreams to one day wear an Iowa Hawkeye singlet on the newly added Division 1 girls program. This opportunity would be her first step in working toward her goal of becoming a National Champion and making her dream a reality.

Dylan Gagnon- New York State Champion- Greco Roman 145lbs (16 & Under)’
Dylan is a captain and leader for North Tonawanda Wrestling. Dylan is the definition of dedication as he never misses any practices and often gets extra workouts in whenever possible to continue bettering himself. This is Dylan’s first season wrestling Freestyle and Greco Roman. During this season, Dylan has shown heart and perseverance in the face of adversity. Dylan would continue to work as hard as possible, getting extra workouts in despite not placing at many Freestyle and Greco Roman tournaments this spring. As the saying goes, “Hard Work, Works” Dylan won 4 straight matches at the Greco Roman National Tournament and was crowned the NYS Champion for the 145lb weight class. Dylan also has plans to wrestle in college. This opportunity would allow for exposure to many college coaches and a chance to achieve All-American status or even become a National Champion and turn the heads of many college coaches.

Despite each wrestler earning the opportunity to compete at the National Championships in Fargo, North Dakota, each wrestler is responsible for funding their trip. For these wrestlers, it would be an experience and opportunity they will never forget. Please consider donating to help each dedicated wrestler pursue their dreams!

Funds generated will go to the cost for each individual to attend the National Championships. A complete breakdown of costs is provided below. The generated funds will go directly to the North Tonawanda Wrestling Booster program for other national tournaments and individuals who qualify.
