Send Griffin Gazette to Nashville Convention

The Griffin Gazette, the student newspaper at Los Alamitos High School, is proud to represent a group of talented and dedicated young journalists. This fall, ten of our student writers and one adviser have the opportunity to attend the JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention in Nashville from November 13-16. This event brings together thousands of students and advisers from across the country for several days of workshops, keynote speakers, contests, and networking. It’s a unique chance for our students to sharpen their skills, gain inspiration, and bring fresh ideas back to our program.

Our students are passionate about journalism and have already achieved remarkable success. The Griffin Gazette has been nationally recognized as a Distinguished Site by Student Newspapers Online, and our writers have been published both locally and nationally. The publication has received awards for excellence in writing, site design, audience engagement, continuous coverage, multimedia storytelling, and media campaigns. Attending this convention will help our students continue to grow as leaders and storytellers, and will allow them to share what they learn with the entire school community.

We are raising funds to cover transportation, food, lodging, and conference registration fees. Every contribution will help ensure that all ten students can participate in this life-changing experience. Your support will empower the next generation of journalists and help The Griffin Gazette continue its tradition of excellence.
