My name is Gillian Wood and I am 13 years old. I attend Chico Junior High School. I was nominated for the 2017 Ambassador Leadership Summit by my STEM teacher Mr. Alex Erwin. This program will help me develop leadership skills, build confidence and prepare me for the opportunities and responsibilities ahead. I would have the opportunity to join other outstanding students from 140 countries to: Experience college life at a top university, like UCLA or Harvard, gain a competitive edge for college, 80% of attendees are accepted into their college of choice, I will learn how to make a difference in my community and earn 20 service learning hours.
I really want to raise money for this since my parents do so much for me and already pay a lot for my Travel Volleyball. I have three brothers and 3 step-sisters and this fundraising would help ease the finances for my mom and dad. I plan to do other odd jobs to also earn money for this fantastic opportunity.
