One of Our Own Has Been Selected for an Honor Most Architects Only Dream Of
Geoffrey Mosoti Nyakiongora—a brilliant graduate student, former AIA East Bay Student Design Award winner, and future leader in our field—has been invited to present at the 2025 Venice Biennale, one of the most prestigious architecture exhibitions in the world.
His AI-driven hospital design tackles the rural healthcare crisis in Kenya, showing how architecture and technology can come together to literally save lives.
Geoffrey is only the second Kenyan ever to be accepted—and one of just a handful of students worldwide. But here’s the catch:
- There’s no funding for travel.
- There’s no stipend.
- There’s just us.
Geoffrey has been part of our AIA East Bay family since the beginning—he got his start at our 5x5x5 mentorship sessions, and we recognized his promise when he won the 2023 Student Design Award. Now a grad student at MIT, he’s on the world stage—and we have the chance to help him get there.
