Send Florida Kids to the 2021 Rose Parade

With under 2 months to go, please support the final push to raise funds and send 10 central Florida high school students to this year's Rose Parade https://tournamentofroses.com/events-calendar/rose-parade/ . The kids step off for their 5 1/2-mile march on January 1, 2022, with the Bands of America, Honor Band in Pasadena, California.

The Honor Band is assembled from students across the US who audition who are selected based on their musicianship and dedication. Every Honor Band student auditioned a year ago and have been participating in remote rehearsals while performing with their school marching bands this fall season. Each student pays their way - $2200 per person plus transportation to southern California. These kids will be flying from Orlando and are responsible for funding their own air travel.

Selection to perform in the Rose Parade is extremely selective and a true honor. The opportunity is a life-changing experience and will propel these kids forward - to push themselves & embrace challenging opportunities to come. Meeting and connecting with other band members from across the US will build a national network of friends and support as they leave high school. In addition to the Parade, these Honor Band students will perform at Disneyland on New Years Eve and participate in Bandfest.

The 300-piece, national Bands of America (BOA) Honor Band will be directed by Richard Saucedo, Director of Bands (retired) of the Grand National Champion Carmel High School in Indiana, leading a dream team staff of music educators. David Starnes, Director of Orchestras at Kennesaw Mountain High School in Georgia, is the Program Coordinator.

The BOA Honor Band marched in the 2005, 2009, 2013, and 2017 Rose Parade. In 2009, they were part of the Rose Parade’s President’s Award-winning entry. When the announcement was made that there would be no 2021 Rose Parade® due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tournament of Roses Association extended the invitation to the BOA Honor Band for the 2022 Rose Parade and we said “yes!”

Music for All’s mission is to create, provide, and expand positively life-changing experiences
through music for all. The splendor and excitement of the Rose Parade is an experience of
