Send Filipino Youth Back to School
Hello! We are students from George Mason University and we are taking a course on human trafficking. As a part of the class, we had the opportunity to speak with students and faculty from the Tambayan Center for Children’s Rights Inc. in Davao City, Philippines. The Tambayan Center, founded in 1996, is a non-stock, nonprofit, and non-governmental organization whose goals are to reduce the vulnerability of children in need of protection, strengthen families within the surrounding communities, and increase the capacity of the center overall.
Our goal as students and advocates is to raise awareness of human trafficking around the world by supporting the Tambayan Center and the children who have experienced a violation of their human rights. Many of these children are confronted with issues pertaining to corporal punishment, prostitution, different types of abuse, trafficking, juvenile justice, and a lack of access to education and other essential needs.
Please donate to the Tambayan Center to support the children’s education and future within their community. For every one hundred dollars raised, we are able to send one child back to school for two years. All donations will go directly to the scholarship fund. Thank you.
