Hello, my name is Estro Lopez Gonzalez. I am going to the University of Arizona. I am struggling and very stressed out about how I will be able to pay for tuition. I applied for FAFSA and I specifically applied for the Parent PLUS Loan because it was offered to me through the University of Arizona financial aid page. It said I was eligible and I called FAFSA several times to confirm that I was eligible and that the money was there, they confirmed all the times I asked that the money was indeed there. I also called the University of Arizona several times and made sure everything was fine with my documents and they told me each time that all I had to do was accept the Parent PLUS Loan. I clicked the accept button and I assumed everything was okay because they assured me it was.
I was wrong. Just 7 days before school started, I received an email stating that my Parent PLUS loan was denied. I have been calling the school and FAFSA and they have been no help. I feel so uncertain about my future and every day I am calling to try to figure something out, which has been super draining. Since that point I have been trying to apply for a private loan, however, I am not eligible because my parents are not citizens, I have no family who can help me, and loan sites will not allow me to sign up for a loan by myself because I do not have any credit history.
I am extremely frustrated, stressed, and uncertain because I thought everything was fine up until a week ago. However, I moved into my dorm with the hope I can figure something out with UofA in person. I have two weeks to figure something out before I am charged for the dorm and tuition.
If there is anything you can give or donate I would really appreciate it. I will be forever grateful to anyone who can help me out because it means so much to me. I am going to make the most out of my education. This is the one thing in my life that I am truly passionate about. I am asking from the bottom of my heart, anything helps. Please help a brother out!
