Hi - my name is Emmasofia. I'm 12 years old and I'm so excited that I've been accepted into the pre-professional program at the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago! For a kid growing up in rural New Mexico, this is an amazing opportunity for me to grow as a dancer.
Ballet is my passion and I've been doing it all of my life. I love how much you can do with your body and it's such a beautiful art form.
In February 2020 I participated in the Youth America Grand Prix in Denver, where I was a half point away from being in the top 12 in my age group. During quarantine, I've worked harder than ever doing stretch and strength videos and training at my local ballet studio.
At the Joffrey Ballet, I'll be taking classes 5 days a week, which is over 15 hours. I know that this will help my technique and my dancing tremendously.
Will you help me follow my dream and realize this amazing opportunity? Since I am joining the Joffrey Academy in the second semester, financial aid and scholarships are not available. Any support you give will be greatly appreciated!
