Send Emerald Sport Editor to Ducks Opening Game

My name is Aaron Heisen and I was recently promoted to sports desk editor at the Daily Emerald. I have worked at the Emerald since January 2021 providing our audiences with Oregon game coverage, feature stories and profiles, as well as timely breaking news pieces. I’ve worked hard to research and source numerous stories that have been displayed on the cover of our newspapers across campus.

It’s a privilege to work for the Emerald, and I appreciate the opportunity to travel across the country in September to cover the Oregon Ducks’ opening football game against the defending champion, Georgia Bulldogs — a clash between two of the nation’s heavyweights with Oregon’s new head coach Dan Lanning returning to face his former team.

The game will take place at one of the country’s prime football stadiums — the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, in a city that I have yet to travel to. While I will be enjoying my time in Atlanta, I will also provide the audiences back home, and at the game, with a multitude of stories including a game preview, a feature, a game-coverage story and a review of my favorite spots in Atlanta. During the game I will provide timely tweets and social media updates that are easy for our fans to follow.

I hope everyone tunes in on Sept. 3 to watch the Ducks take on the Bulldogs, and I hope my coverage can provide a unique insight into the game and the atmosphere that will surround it.
