Send Eliana and Emily to a Writer’s Conference
We (Eliana Duran and Emily Bianchini) are young writers with big plans to go to Realm Makers, a writing conference for Christian fantasy authors. Realm Makers will be held in New Jersey on July 21-23, 2022, the summer after our high school graduations. We would be ever so grateful for your help paying for our registration, room & board, and travel expenses connected with this trip!

Our names are Eliana Duran and Emily Bianchini. We’re two high school seniors who are passionate about writing, and we are on a mission to use our gift of wordcraft to uplift, guide, inspire, and encourage others.
Eliana: I’ve written three unpublished books, many articles for my own blog and other sites and magazines, a handful of sci-fi short stories, and more! My favorite genre is urban fantasy, and my favorite part of the novel-making process is fabricating my story idea into a nice, long outline with lots of plot twists.
Emily: I am working on my second novel-length project, and third major project overall. I love approaching mental health topics and writing those into a fantasy setting because it can show a character’s journey through that in a more vivid way. I love well-done character arcs, friendship, and wacky creatures in my stories. You can follow my writing journey on my blog .
Our Story
We first met in 2018 through American Heritage Girls, and we became close friends quickly. In 2019, we started making plans to go to the Mount Hermon Christian Writers Conference together. Sadly, those plans were canceled by It-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named.
Although that conference won’t be opening up again, the doors to other opportunities are opening back up, including another wonderful Christian writing conference: Realm Makers.
We still have a long road ahead of us before our books are published. When we do get a book published, we want it to be our best work. We want it to be descriptive and captivating and polished. And we want it to reach and help as many people as possible, and to touch them on a deep level with its message.
To do this, it is critical for us to learn everything we can, be diligent with our work, and form connections with agents, editors, publishers, and other writers.
For these reasons, a writer’s conference would be the perfect opportunity. It would jumpstart our writing careers and help us find out what our next steps are to achieve our goals.
Realm Makers is one of the best conferences out there for Christian fantasy authors. If we could go, we would find insight, get feedback on their work, learn how we can write better, form connections, and meet the professionals who are doing what we want to do one day. It would be a dream come true.
