Send Don Antonio’s Body Home to His Family

Don Antonio "Toño" Gutierrez, a beloved member of our community, paletero and friend to all passed away on June 6th. He was kind, helpful, humble and caring. Don Antonio was a special person to many of us and his presence will be missed.

Unfortunately, his family is not able to be in the U.S. to make arrangements. They have entrusted me with this task - which I am honoured to be able to help make this possible.

Don Antonio has a family in Guerrero, Mexico and his body will be repatriated to his loved ones in the coming weeks. I am raising funds to cover the repatriation costs, a casket and a local memorial service to honour his life. All additional funds raised will be given to his family so that they may make further burial arrangements in Mexico when his body arrives and help them with other expenses.

Don Antonio worked in the community for decades as an ice cream and snack vendor, he watched many of the local children grow into adults, selling Paletas and Treats to multi-generations.

Don Antonio Gutierrez is survived by his mother (age 99), a wife, 3 sons and 2 granddaughters.
