Who am I?
Hi. I'm Dave Maher. You may know me from "This American Life" or from seeing "Dave Maher Coma Show" at Steppenwolf Theatre or the Cincy Fringe. I'm a comedian, and I make one-man shows to tour theaters and festivals all over the world.
What is this show?
My new show is "Feed Wolf Ice Cream: A Comedy Show About Death." It's an interactive, surreal, and autobiographical comedy play that smashes together elements of standup, improv, sketch, clown, and performance art. It's a spiritual sequel to the coma show where the entire show takes place in the afterlife.
Why the Edinburgh Fringe?
I've worked hard to develop "Feed Wolf Ice Cream" for its debut next month at the Edinburgh Fringe, the world's largest arts festival. Taking "Dave Maher Coma Show" to the Edinburgh Fringe last year made that show as strong as it is today, and I want the same trial by fire for "Feed Wolf Ice Cream."
Where will the money go?
And I need your help. I've secured a venue with a professional tech setup, and I'm bringing my own technical director to execute the spectacular vision I have for this show in Edinburgh. I have covered most of my expenses, but I could use a final push. Your donation will go toward:
-final housing payment
-printing flyers and posters
-performer's insurance
-making sure I have essentials like rent and health insurance covered while I'm away
