The Cross Keys High School Band (Thee POB-The Pride of Brookhaven) has been award with an exciting opportunity. Our band has been invited to participate in the Mardi Gras celebration in Mobile, Alabama—an honor that reflects just how far our program has come.

Over the past few years, our band has grown tremendously—not just in numbers, but in discipline, musicianship, and pride. Many of our students came into the program with little to no musical experience. Through long rehearsals, after-school practices, weekends, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, they have transformed into confident performers who represent our school and community with integrity and heart. These students work incredibly hard, balancing academics, family responsibilities, and band commitments, all while striving to be their best.

Participating in Mardi Gras would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many of our students. For some, this would be their first time traveling outside of Georgia. For others, it would be their first time performing on such a large and historic stage. The funds raised will help cover transportation, lodging, meals, and participation costs—ensuring that every student has the opportunity to attend, regardless of financial circumstances.

This trip is more than a parade. It's an educational and cultural experience that exposes our students to history, tradition, teamwork, and the reward that comes from perseverance and dedication. Your support directly invests in their growth, confidence, and their belief that hard work truly opens doors.
