Hello! My name is Christa Naber and I am a sophomore Bass Trombone Music Performance Major at Oklahoma State University. I am so blessed to be able to attend OSU and study with Paul Compton, who has already been able to help me reach incredible goals and dreams, such as winning the 2022 American Trombone Workshop Solo Competition for Bass Trombone Division 1 and being a prize-winner at Ladies Music Competition for 2022 and 2023. He provides several incredible opportunities for his students constantly and another one has arisen for late July of this year.
The Trombonanza festival is something that has been on my radar since I arrived at OSU, as it has always been a highly talked about experience for every student that has attended. I have several friends who have talked to me about the memories they created and the opportunities they received to better themselves as musicians every day of the festival. It has changed their lives in the most positive way, and the festival is clearly different from any other.
Trombonanza is the largest and most important festival for trombonists in Latin America. Aside from the unforgettable performances to listen to, there is also an incredible amount of time to build connections and friendships with musicians that come from multiple parts of the globe as well as ages ranging from elementary students to retired musicians. Apart from hearing and playing alongside some of the greatest trombone players, there is also the opportunity to talk and have meals with them. Getting to meet and have conversations with artists of all ages and caliber is invaluable to musicians, and that is one of the reasons that this festival is such a unique and important opportunity.
This year, the OSU trombone studio has an opportunity to perform at the festival. If I were to be able to go, I would feel so grateful and blessed to be playing alongside my friends and get to experience Argentina and everything Trombonanza has to offer with them.
Unfortunately, the cost of international travel is not cheap. I would love the opportunity to experience Trombonanza alongside my friends, so I am reaching out to you - my colleagues, mentors, friends, and family - to ask if you are willing to help me reach my goal of attending this spectacular festival this summer.
Estimate Prices:
Round Trip Place Ticket to Santa Fe, Argentina = Around $1,600-$1,800 USD
Housing/Food = Around $300 USD

Thank you so much for your consideration! Any donations are welcome and appreciated!
