Hi! I'm Chris Bruce, and I've spent a fairly silly amount of time over the last couple of years learning about energy and trying to promote energy literacy and access.
Part of that work has been in Canadians for Nuclear Energy, where I was lucky enough to be able to contribute to our report on the Canada Germany Hydrogen Alliance: Throwing Caution to the Wind. Read the report here:
I also spend a lot of time watching our grid, and was able to contribute to the growth of the Friendly Robot Army by sourcing the data for Newfoundland's grid. You can see the good work the bots do here, where grids from NL to SK are scraped and shared.
I'd love to go to the Energy NL Conference to help further my own understanding of energy, to share that with you, and to advocate for sensible energy policy that protects our wild lands from terrible investments that would also destabalize our grid and drive up prices.
I do need to give up work (I'm not in the energy industry, I'm just here for the love of the game) and will need to drive ~1000km each way to get to St. John's for the conference. I'd love to be able to do this, and I hope you can help make it happen!
The conference is June 3rd so time is short!
