Hi! We're the Camels Hump Coders, a small group of 5th-8th grade students from Huntington, Vermont. We all love to build, create, and invent. FLL, First Lego League, is an international program for kids to develop their skills in building, engineering, and coding, as well as other STEM topics. This program has a huge science component along with building a Lego robot and coding various missions. After learning about this program, we, with the help of our coaches, formed a team to participate.

We have worked hard this season, meeting twice a week to design, build, and code our robot, and research and design our innovation project. This year, our idea is to create a citizen-science project to use sonar to map lake beds in Vermont to identify historical artifacts. We are proud to have taken first in the qualifier competition in December in Norwich and were the State Champions this January at GlobalFoundries!

Because of our State win, the Camels Hump Coders now have an exciting opportunity to represent Vermont at the FIRST Lego League World Festival in Houston, TX this April — a chance to compete with over 1,000 teams representing 66 countries from around the world.
