Hello!
My name is Koh Yamakawa, a Taiko player based out of Berkeley, California and I'm DRUMing up support to get two Cal Raijin Taiko players to learn katsugi okedo from world class Taiko instructor Eri Uchida!
Eri Uchida is coming THIS WEEKEND to the Bay Area Taiko Center (BATC) in Oakland where she will teach "One with the Drum", a one-of-a-kind, two-day katsugi okedo workshop sponsored by kaDON. The registration fee is $360 a person for both days and covers a total of 12 hours of instruction on the katsugi okedo style of Taiko from the most sought-after solo artist and educator of the art form. These students will get the chance to learn the basics from one of the best as well as dive into learning how to play "Summer Song", a piece composed by Eri and Shoji Kameda that is being taught across America. Learning this piece will not only be a great experience for them but also opens up an opportunity for them to perform the piece with others.
These students need your help to be able to cover the cost of registration!! Any contribution, no matter how small, will help these students get a taste of Taiko from one of the best.
