Burke Band Boosters (https://omahaburkeband.com/about-the-boosters), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, wants to send Omaha Burke High School Marching Band and Color Guard to Bands of America’s Super Regional (http://www.musicforall.org/what-we-do/boa-marching-championships/regionals/bands-of-america-st-louis-super-regional-championship-presented-by-yamaha) in St. Louis, Missouri on October 26-27, 2018. This is the first time the band and guard will participate in an event of this size, where 77 high school organizations have registered to perform and compete. The monetary commitment will double the annual budget of the booster organization, and we are asking for your help in making this trip a success.

Reasons why parents want to send band and guard to BoA:
1. Team-building opportunity
2. Reinforce cooperation skills
3. Show kids how good they could be; others aren’t any more talented than they are, it’s just focus and practice
4. Watching videos from these events isn’t the same as being there
5. Build excitement for Burke’s program

August Barna: Well, i want to go to BOA because marching band has really helped me find who i am. We might not be the best band there but seeing bands better than us will help let freshman see how good we can be

Grace Ruff: the band wants this opportunity because it has the potential to greatly influence our lives in the world of marching arts. not only is it the marching parallel of sending a baseball team to the CWS, it shows us what our ensemble has the potential to be. many band members have put in years of work towards bettering themselves and their ensemble, and to be able to see these great ensembles perform, and to be able to perform on the same field with them, would be a culmination of all their marching band dreams over their high school career coming to fruition.
