Send Brecken to Australia with YWAM to serve God's Kingdom

Hi! My name is Brecken Craft, and I am excited to share this big leap of faith with you!

I have decided to join Youth With A Mission as a discipleship student & missionary. I will be headed to Australia to become a part of the Sunshine Coast team with YWAM.

I will spend 5 months in this program, in which I will learn how to know God and to make Him known. I will spend 12 weeks on the Sunshine Coast, in my lecture phase. My time will be devoted to learning more about God and strengthening my relationship with Him before I go on a 7-week mission trip in another country.

While you're here, I would like to share my testimony with you!

I came to know Christ the summer before 8th grade, after a rough middle school experience. I fell into bad habits and was chasing after approval from the wrong group of kids. I got myself into quite a bit of trouble and ended up grounded for my entire 8th-grade year. During this quiet, lonely time, I had a lot of time to reflect on who I was and what I wanted to become. I started praying to God, reading my Bible, and hoping to become new. In April of 2021, my first outing since being ungrounded was to attend Youth Night at Grace Community Church. I remember feeling so alive and being so excited about learning about God. After about 3 weeks of being there, our youth leaders asked us to pray about being baptized and see if that was being put on our hearts. And so I did. Soon enough, I was baptized. From that day on, my heart was changed.

I have felt utterly connected with God and believed that in some way or another He needed me as a servant in His Kingdom.

I was very intrigued by the idea of missions and had my heart set on it my sophomore year. Things changed a few times going into my junior and senior year. There was a lot of pressure to go to college and do the normal thing. I got kind of limp in my faith. I focused more on my friends, relationships, wants, worldly desires, and other things more.

Until I started to see an uproaring faith in my entire family. I had two loved ones who had been addicts most of their lives. Both are now sober and walking with the Lord. My mom discovered the Lord in the midst of all the renewal in our family and encouraged me to pursue my faith. Small seeds of faith have moved so many mountains in my family. My entire household now walks with the Lord and we have grown so much because of it. 

I have witnessed more miracles than I can fit into this one explanation. But I know God is good. He has the power to change people, strengthen families, bring people out of addiction, and deliver hope and joy.

I want to continue this journey. I want to serve the kingdom. I want to help people come to know the Great and Almighty God.

This is my purpose and I can't wait to see what God will do during this time.

In order to make this happen, I need to raise roughly $8,000. This money will cover my studies, mission costs, travel, and all the gaps in between.
