Send Brayden to be a part of Spirit of Atlanta

Happy Holidays everyone! My name is Devin Doran, I (along with my wife Liz Doran) am the proud parent of Brayden Doran. Brayden is a 17 year old Junior that attends Russell County HS in Seale, AL. Brayden has been involved with band and music since he was 12 years old. He has never ceased to amaze us when it comes to musical talent. I don't think there is anything that gives him greater joy than music. Brayden is a Trombonist first and foremost (following in the footsteps of his Uncle Drew Monks that was a Trombonist as well for the University of Michigan marching band). In High School he has been a jack of all trades and has filled in where he was needed most (because of his musical prowess and big heart). His Freshman year he marched the Trombone. His Sophmore year he marched Tuba, and this year the Bass drum. His last year he will be back on Trombone once again. He has achieved honors of All District Honor Band and All State Honor Band multiple times, and has attended the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Mi.
This fall he was given an opportunity to audition for "The Spirit of Atlanta" with is a division of the "Drum Corps International". The best marching musicians from 14-22 participate in DCI. He auditioned on Contra Tuba (marching Tuba), because SATL does not march Trombones. He was offered a contract after his initial audition without a callback. This is very rare and a great honor. The SATL is a competition band that competes on the DCI circuit all across the country (18 performances). They will tour the country for 6 weeks during the summer after completing an intensive resident summer camp . Making their way around the country by tour bus staying on gym floors for the night. This is an absolutely incredible opportunity for him, and will set him up for the next step in his musical journey (to say the least) However, this does not come without a tremendous cost of $5,800 (we were unaware at the time of how much prior to his audition) . We have never done anything like this before, but we recognize what an amazing opportunity it is for Brayden, and thought that if others may recognize it as well that perhaps they would like make a donation towards the cause. We would all be eternally grateful and anything you may be able to contribute would be greatly appreciated. We hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, and a Happy New Year. Thanks so much from the whole Doran family.
