Funds still needed for Bo to Travel to Italy before he no longer can physically do so

Hello friends and family of Bo (Robert Bonina) and Arlene,
I am a very long time friend of Arlene's and I am honored to be able to ask for your help.

Due to the relentless cancer journey Bo has been on the past 6 years, he now faces another round of chemotherapy for survival and he hopes for some months of decreased pain to enjoy with Arlene.

Currently Bo is in pain everyday and fights to keep trying to live. His cancer is advancing with few treatment options and there appears to be only a short window of time for him to travel while he still can.

He has long dreamed of returning to his Italian roots.

His all over body pain and rapid physical decline of of the last 6 months has taken its toll on Bo.

After 6 years of fighting this rare nasty incurable cancer (5 of which he worked full time until medical leave) he can’t fly economy. His pain requires him to lie down.

His retirement dreams were to travel and take Arlene away to beautiful places. With decreased strength, a fracture in his back and getting winded after 1 flight of stairs, he has to be able to lie down while traveling.

Bo, as you can imagine, does not want any gifts or contributions but I believe you might think otherwise, when you learn a little bit about    Bo's contributions to those around him during his life.

Bo has lived a life a service beginning with the volunteer fire service he joined in Pennsylvania at 16yrs old. He served as a volunteer EMT and a fire fighter. He has maintained friendships with the men with whom he volunteered for 13 years.

Bo served in hospitality, providing people with the experience of good food, good company and good wines for 35 years. In these years he made many friends as he sought to provide for people what they wanted or needed. His pairings of food and wine celebrated the joys of life.

While At Metro, Bo volunteered hundreds of hours helping boost Union membership when the Supreme Court Janice decision aka “Right to Work” threatened Union strength at Metro. As a result of his and other volunteers efforts the Union maintained 98% membership.

While at Metro Bo has gone to people’s homes when an employee with good attendance hadn’t been heard from in 3 days.  He’s had an employee in his home for dinner to help her organize her information for her cause, He’s taken calls from people at all hours as a Shop Steward happily bc he enjoys empowering people and he believes strongly in matters of justice.

Bo has a history of generosity which you may have been a recipient of yourself.

Bo has been persistent in the face of pain and difficulty. Join the effort to give him an opportunity to travel while he can by donating some of your Alaska Miles or some money for their expenses.

To donate Alaska Miles you can text Arlene to get instructions to transfer the miles.  There is a $10 transfer fee. (GoFundme will not let me publish her phone number) or you contact me through GoFundMe and I can connect you.
If you do not have miles, please consider a monetary gift here, no matter how small.  We know it all adds up.

Thank you for reading and considering a gift for Bo and Arlene, I  know it will mean so much to them.
Please share this with people you are in contact with, even if you think they may have already seen it.

Lastly, please consider sharing a comment of encouragement to Bo and Arlene.

Warmly,
Kara Gordon
