I'm raising funds for the Batavia High School Class of 2027 so more students can take part in their senior trip to Boston and Salem this June. This trip includes a visit to the Salem Witch Museum, and for these students, it is meant to be an opportunity to learn history in a meaningful way, including what can happen when fear, religious persecution, and accusations without proof are allowed to destroy innocent lives.

What should have been a class trip became something much bigger after a school board member who is also a pastor voted against it because of the Salem stop, calling it a “satanic witch museum” and saying he hoped “the church rises up.” But this trip is not about promoting witchcraft. It is about education, history, and making sure students have the chance to experience this for themselves.

After I shared what was happening, people from Salem, Massachusetts began reaching out to ask how they could help. Their support has been incredibly moving, and this fundraiser is a way to turn that encouragement into something real for the students.

The funds raised here will help cover the cost of the trip for students who otherwise would not be able to afford it. The trip costs about $700 to $800 per student, and missing it would be devastating for students who deserve this amazing educational opportunity and the chance to make these memories with their class.
