Send B & K to the UK

Before Brad and Kristina found out that they were finally pregnant, they were planning a trip to Ireland and the U.K. this summer. They had even hoped to go while they were pregnant, but when the pregnancy took some complicated turns, they decided it was best not to leave.  Sweet little Lila entered this world three weeks ago unexpectedly early and the journey was full of many triumphs, scares and profound moments in BC Women’s Hospital with Brad and Kristina.  Her story pulled an entire community together in prayer.  Her tiny body endured fierce battles and two surgeries, much to the doctors’ amazement, but then, in Kristina’s words, “Lila went to hold Jesus' hand instead of my own” on June 10th, 2017 early in the morning.  

There are few losses as painful as the loss of a child, with no remedy.  However, one thing  we thought as a community that we could do for them is to send them on this trip they had been dreaming of together.  The chance to get away, process, grieve, and take in some different scenery are some things we hope might be an encouragement in this prolonged painful time of not just the loss of Lila, but a series of tragedies in the last several years. The cost estimate includes flights and up to five weeks of travel, as this is what they had originally been planning.  Of course, the more that is raised, the more possibilities there are for travelling in comfort.  We want them to have the option of going this summer, so we have set the closing date in just 3 weeks. In light of this, please spread the word quickly!
