Michael’s Road to Recovery

If you found that a friend, family member or just a stranger you came across today seems like they needed a hand, what would your next actions be?

 

It’s not in my character to ask for anything at all. I can stand on my own two feet and get by through life as most people do. But not right now. Not for the next few months, anyway.

 

As you can see from my profile picture, I’m broken. I suffered an unfortunate skiing accident which led to a neck fracture, which led to surgery to replace one disc in my spine and secure it in place with a titanium plate and two screws. My recovery period is 12 weeks. I don’t have work or any savings to get by for those weeks. Until I can return to work, I have no income other than medical EI.

I’m in constant pain and I get little sleep because of it. Medication helps alleviate these symptoms. The funds will help pay for necessary bills, prescriptions and physiotherapy. The doctors have stated I can make a full recovery.
