I'm going to seminary!!

After several years of discernment and prayer within myself and my community, I'm answering God's call in a new way by pursuing a Master of Divinity at the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas. My sense of call to the priesthood is rooted in my love for God, God's people, and the life and worship of the Church. I am passionate about leading and being part of a church that respects the dignity of every human being and strives for justice and peace.
To become that leader in the Church, I need your help.
Like any graduate school degree, seminary requires financial support and commitment from myself and those who support me through gifts and scholarships. A full year of seminary (tuition, books, living expenses, health care, etc.) costs around $47,000!
Here are some of the things I'll be using these resources for:
-Tuition - $16,200
-Books & Supplies - $2,400
-Fees - $923
-Room & Board - $13,123
-Transportation - $5,093
-Everything Else (health care, travel, etc) - $9,426
So far, I've been blessed to receive significant financial support including:
-A full tuition grant for $16,200
-An additional first-year scholarship from the Seminary of the Southwest for $3,000
-A scholarship from the Society for the Increase of Ministry (SIM) for $3,000
-A scholarship from the Scudder Association for $2,500
-Additional support from my parish, friends, and family, for $4,800
This leaves a gap of about $17,000!
While I plan to work as much as possible and take out a student loan, any financial support you can offer will prevent financial stress and make this seminary dream a reality!
