Send Angelle to the Monastery!

Hey Y'all!

My name is Angelle-Marie Damare and I'm from Covington, Louisiana. On February 13, I will be moving to the desert of Tonopah, Arizona to enter the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration! In order for me to begin postulancy, however, I will need to pay off the remaining $2400 of my student loans.

My Story

Ever since I was a kid, all I really wanted to be was a wife and mother. I had the names of my future children picked out, and a 4-year-find-a-husband plan for college.

I attended LSU (class of '12) and became very involved at Christ the King Catholic Student Center. There my plans began to crumble-in the best way. During those 4 years, I developed a solid prayer life, was surrounded by a strong faith community, and began to really listen to God's voice. In the silence of prayer, the idea of religious life kept popping up. Really? Me? A nun? What about my dreams? Yet the more I considered this path, and the possibility that it may actually be what I was created for, the more I began to experience the deepest peace and joy I had ever known. So I sought wise counsel, and was encouraged to stay open in prayer and finish college.

Which I did. And much to my surprise, graduation did not lead me to the convent, but instead further upon a long and winding road! I spent some time in a serious dating relationship, then moved to the Archdiocese of Seattle to serve there as a missionary. After this I worked with the Ignite Your Torch high school youth conferences, and finally in 2014 returned home to Covington, LA, where I have been living and working since. The past 4 years have been filled with blessings, and I am so grateful. After visiting several religious orders over the course of these years, it has become clear that the Lord is gently and humbly inviting me to the contemplative vocation-specifically at Our Lady of Solitude Monastery in the desert. After much prayer and discernment, supported by those I love, I have finally been able to accept this gift with joy and thanksgiving. It is a mystery even unto myself but I know that the Lord Who is Merciful and Mighty has done and will do great things for me, and Holy is His Name!

I realize now that He has indeed created me to be a wife-the spouse of His Son Jesus Christ, and a mother-to souls, especially priests. It is a mystery: that by my very existence, being held alive in the Love of God, and living my life in a monastery in the desert, with great Love, in silence and solitude and prayer, with struggles and joys, I will have more children than I could have ever dreamed. I will nourish them with grace that is given to me in the intimacy of Holy Communion and in the prolongation of the Mass: Eucharistic Adoration, and by just living daily life with God. I believe that when we get to Heaven, we will be awed to realize just how LOVED we were by God while on earth and how many graces were available to us.

I will carry each of you there in my heart, so that when God looks upon me in the monastery, He will see too all of you, praying and consecrated before Him, and we will all receive together grace upon grace. I am convinced that we will be connected more deeply than ever before.

I echo the words of St. Therese upon her entrance to Carmel:

"I have come to save souls, and above all, to pray for priests."

How to Help

As I have already stated, the nuns have invited me to enter the monastery in February 2019. There is one stipulation: I must have the entirety of my $2400 student loan debt paid off! Will you help me respond to the invitation of Jesus to Be With Him in the desert? There are two ways you can help:

First, PLEASE keep me, my family, and this campaign in your prayers. I will need perseverance during these final months, along with courage and trust to live faithfully my vocation.

Second, please consider helping me financially! All I need is for 24 people to give $100 each, and I'd reach my goal of $2400! Of course, ANY amount, will be greatly appreciated and help me reach my goal. Your generosity will not only help me pay off my loans, but will allow me to take this next step toward becoming a Bride of Christ. I am sure that God the Divine Bridegroom will reward you in eternal riches for taking care of His little one!

The deadline for this campaign is Christmas Eve 2018.  Let's give Jesus the birthday gift of my unimpeded "yes"! :)

Thank y'all so much for your love, prayers, and support in whatever way you feel called to give.  I can't wait to party with y'all in Heaven (and at 6 pm on February 11 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Covington, the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes)!

In the Love and Service of the Divine Majesty,

Angelle Damare

"Through Him, and with Him, and in Him, O God Almighty Father, in the Unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is Yours, Forever and Ever. Amen!"
