Send Andrea to Sonoma State

My name is Andrea, and I am a DACA recipient. This year I was admitted to Sonoma State University and will be the first in my family to attend a four year university. However, I was only qualified for $5,000 in financial aid. And my tuition and housing will far exceed that amount during my first year. I wasn't qualified for any other grants, aid, or loans because I am undocumented. Despite this being a barrier, I am doing my best to secure scholarships I do qualify for. At first, the college was devastating because my family is low income and there seemed to be absolutely no way that I could afford to go to Sonoma State. And at that moment, I hated being undocumented when, usually, I can be so proud of it. It felt like my dreams were being ripped away from me and it all seemed unfair. But having my high school counselor, family, and friends supporting me, throughout this process, has given me the strength to not give up on my dream. So, this GoFundMe is my community's answer back. We will not give up. We will continue to live out the DREAM.
