Hello friends, after many years of study and networking I have the opportunity of a lifetime to go to Brazil to study and to play in an Escola de Samba in Carnaval 2019.  This requires leaving my home and my work for two months to rehearse and prepare for the competition and I need your help to make this dream a reality! 
     As much as this is a personal dream, there will be many people and communities benefiting from this trip.  Everything that I learn in Brazil I will bring back to San Diego, CA and specifically to Super Sonic Samba School.  I will also offer a full transcription of the Enredo I learn to any of my GoFundMe supporters who are interested.  The big picture goal of this trip is to make the connections and open the doors to be able to organize a group trip for other percussionists who want to visit Brazil to learn from the best teachers and experience this amazing culture. 
     Those of you who know me personally know how exciting of an opportunity this is for me.  Exciting enough to ask for help, which I rarely do!  To my fellow sambistas across the USA I will gladly share with you and your groups everything that I learn from this trip, and will do my best to open the doors for other people like me to have the same opportunity.
