Hi everyone, my name is Amenzee Omozuwa. I’m a Muay Thai fighter from Toronto, and am so excited that I have been selected to represent Canada at the IFMA World Championships, in Bangkok, Thailand, this upcoming May.
I have been training Muay Thai since I was eleven years old. When I first started training, I never could have even imagined stepping into the ring to fight, but now here I am being asked to represent my country. An absolute dream come true.
This sport has taught me many valuable lessons inside and outside of the ring. It has taught me about hard work, dedication, and being true to your dreams and aspirations. This opportunity to fight on a world-class stage is one of the biggest moments of my life, and a huge milestone in my career. The eleven year old Amenzee would be so overwhelmed that we got this far. My goal is to be the best in this sport, and these games are a massive step in that direction.
As with so many Canadian sports, there is little, to no, funding. Unfortunately, we are left on our own to fund going to major events like this. Due to it being overseas, the financial burdens are a bit extra and I am in need of financial support to represent our country at the world games.
The donations will go towards my flight, training, food and living accommodations while in Thailand. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated and I truly am thankful for the support from all of you. Thank you, everyone, for your support in leading me to this point.
If you wish to follow my journey through the world championship games, my Instagram handle is @wildin_ameo .
I will be posting training videos leading up to the event, as well as video feeds of the fights in Thailand. I want to bring everyone along with me on this journey, and showcase what I’ve got.
Thank you once again… see you at the top!
