Send Amazon Union leaders, activists to Caribbean

The LA anti-blockade and sanctions committee is coordinating with the Trade Union Federation (CTC) and the International Committee for Friendship with the People (ICAP) to bring together labor and youth activists on an island 90 miles from Florida, for union meetings, May Day march and the international solidarity conference of thousands of unionists and activists from more than 50 nations on May 2.

THE FUNDS WE ARE RAISING GO TO ALU MEMBERS.
ALU AS A UNION IS NOT CONTRIBUTING ANY FUNDS TO THIS EFFORT.
WE WANT TO SUBSIDIZE ALU MEMBERS...AND EACH ARE CONTRIBUTING $500 OF THEIR OWN MONEY.
We thank the ALU for their Instagram to help in this effort.

The Los Angeles 'Labor and Youth Activists' tour is from April 24 to May 3rd. This special tour is composed of working trade unionists and youth active in the anti-blockade movement and other social protests.

The first four days will be meetings the CTC is organizing with workers at the docks, refineries, factories other workplaces, as part of a union internship program.

Other activities will include meetings with the Federation of Women [FMC], Committees for the Defense of the Revolution [CDR], ICAP, visit to the Belles Artes museum, Museum of the Revolution, National Aquarium, University students (FEU) and others.

We have confirmed nine Amazon Labor Union leaders and key organizers including president Chris Smalls, VP Derrick Palmer, Secretary/Treasurer Michelle Rivera Nieves and other JFK8 activists...for this unique tour. Also the leader of the ILWU-IBU (marine Division) Mike Vera, unionized teachers (UTLA), machinists (IAM), service workers (SEIU) and United Steelworkers of America (USW) representative Darwin Velasquez, a refinery worker.

A new delegation of three Amazon workers organizing an Amazon warehouse (RDU1) in Raleigh, NC have joined us. We heartily welcome them and expanded our fundraising to include their subsidy.

Given restrictions on fundraising by Washington and the horrendous 60-year blockade, funds will go to the tour organizer to purchase plane tickets, as we have done for the past 6 delegations.
