The Cleveland Chapter of the Tax Executives Institute (TEI) is proud to support a team of four students from the University of Akron’s Master of Taxation program as they prepare to compete in the 3rd annual TEI Student Case Competition. This year’s event will be held in Montreal, Canada, from August 14-16, and marks the first time a team from Akron will participate. Our chapter has a long-standing partnership with the University of Akron, supporting scholarships and fostering future leaders in the field of taxation. Many of our members are proud alumni, and we are excited to help the next generation take part in this prestigious event.

The competition challenges students to tackle a real-world, urgent tax assignment from the perspective of a CFO, providing invaluable experience and professional growth. In addition to the case study, the students will have the opportunity to connect with peers from 14 universities across the US, Canada, Argentina, Singapore, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Two members of the Cleveland Chapter will serve as mentors, guiding the team throughout their journey.

We are seeking support to help cover travel expenses, including airfare, hotel, and ground transportation. By contributing, you are helping these students gain hands-on experience, build professional networks, and strengthen the bond between the Cleveland Chapter and the University of Akron. Your support will encourage future careers in tax and ensure our tradition of mentorship and partnership continues.
