Send Coach Adrian to the Worlds!

Hi everyone, Adrian here. I am the Head coach here at Lincoln High School and formerly at my alma mater Southridge High School. I am hoping to reach out to all of you to gather your help to allow me to represent my family, my communities and nation at the World Lacrosse Championships. Lacrosse has given everything to me and I can safely say I would not be the man I am today without the sport and all those who have helped along the way. I started playing lacrosse in the spring of 2006, two weeks before tryouts my freshman year. From day one I was hooked. The physicality of football with the finese of basketball, lacrosse was the perfect blend of the two. After a great high school career, I went onto play at Oregon State where I was able to find a greater love for the game, which came in the form of coaching. I coached a 3rd through 5th grade team from Corvallis and Albany and although they were mostly new players, I got to watch them fall in love with the sport, just as I did years before.I was blessed to watch them all graduate high school, with all of them playing lacrosse the entire way. It was one of the most humbling and gratifying experiences of my life. At the same time, I was coaching at Oregon State as a graduate assistant. I knew then this sport was with me for life. In 2013, my senior year of college, I met Aldrin Pano who would later become one of my best friends. He introduced me to the Philippines Lacrosse Association and just when I thought my career was ending, a new door opened. For years we played in small tournaments scrimmaging whoever we could and running clinics, trying to grow our name, legitimacy and presence. But in 2018, all of our hard work paid off and we became offcial members of the Federation of International Lacrosse and allowed to participate in our first World Championships in Netanya, Israel. Overcoming all odds and having a Something To Prove mentality, we shocked the world and finished 10th overall in the world. Since then, I've been fortunate and blessed to have played all over the country and in Korea. Because of this sport, I've coached hundreds of amazing student athletes and met hundreds of amazing families. I've coached with and against so many brilliant coaches, who have shaped the coach and the person I am now. Now I have one last goal, one last push, one last hurrah for this journeyman. It would be the biggest honor to represent not only the Philippines where my family and parents came from, but the community I live in, the coaches who battled for me, the players who inspired me and the families who have brought me into theirs. Please give this lacrosse guy, one last opportunity to inspire and represent the best way I know how.
