Adele is 2 1/2 years old, she is the light of everyone's life. She has alot of family that love her, especially her mom, dad and baby brother Anderson, who made his debut just before Thanksgiving. Adeles cancer journey started last January when she was losing her balance. Many dr.s dismissed her symptoms until finally someone sent her to the E.R for imaging. No one was ready or prepared for what they came back with. Adele has cancer, aplastic ependymoma, a brain tumor. A tumor that was taking over her brain, literally. This came just two short months before her 2nd birthday. It should have been an exciting time for everyone but it was filled with alot of unknowns, prayers and tears. Thankfully, her surgery was a miraculous success. She recovered amazingly and went on to lead a normal, fun couple of months. She had 3 months of clear scans but on her 6th mth the cancer had returned. It was growing back and fast. The treatment plan was to do some rounds of chemo and follow it with an MRI to check the progress. The results weren't what we were hoping for. The cancer has grown in spite of her treatment. She needs another surgery on Dec. 27th, she will be in the hospital for recovery 3 to 4 weeks and then she will undergo radiation for 5 days a week for 6 weeks. The surgery itself comes with alot of risks to her neurodevelopment, which include, her losing her abilities to walk, talk, speak, swallow and see. One, all or none of this can happen. This is a harsh reality of her situation and the decisions her family has had to face. Joy, her mom will remain out of work to take care of Adele and Anderson, Austin will continue to work to provide for them. They will need help, financially, emotionally and physically as Joy takes care of Adele and Anderson. We would like to do the impossible and send them to Disneyland this week! We thought a special trip would be best because after surgery she will not be allowed to have alot of brain stimulation. If you can help in any way please do. $1, $5, etc. It will all go to their trip, flights, tickets, hotel and food, and any expenses that occur during her time of treatment. We hope that these few days away at Disneyland can provide them some fun and joy to keep them going on this next season of unknowns. We just want you to know, this is not easy for us to ask for help, especially so close to Christmas so we thank you for your help and pray that God's blessings abound in your lives.
