My husband is a Combat Engineer Army Veteran. He has an opportunity to reunite with all the combat engineers from his Army unit, that he has not seen in 35 yrs. They are called Sappers. This sapper company reunion is in Monterey California this year. Just outside of where they were stationed at, in Fort Ord, California . We are both disabled and live on SSDI. Our monthly income is below the poverty level. Every month we get to pay our bills and then we are broke. Granted we have what we need for the month but no extra money to do anything with. He really wants to go. His eyes lit up for the first time in years when he got the invitation. But then a sad sorrow set in because he knew he would not be able to afford tomake it. So, I am asking anyone who sees this post to please donate anything you can afford so that I can send him to Monterey, California for his reunion. I am asking for the total of $1200.00 for a round trip ticket and a little bit of spending money for essentials, transportation, and food while there. This man served our country in combat / war with this unit. To protect our futures in this country. If feel as if he deserves this trip, and as Americans we could all make this happen for him.
